Heading back toward Bruthen from Nowa
Nowa. Another look at the roadworks in which the old alignment of the
C620 is being replaced by a new alignment. |
 |
This new section appeared to be newly
opened as loose stones still covered the surface and no linemarking had
been carried out, although the spray marks (spotting) for these had
been done. The old road was out of use and some work on
obliterating it appeared to be being done already. |
 |
Back on the old alignment with the new one to the right. |
 |
Sharp curve and the gentler new one to it's right (not in thumbnail) |
 |
Another view showing old and new. Note Overtaking Lane 5km Ahead sign on left (not in thumbnail). |
 |
One of the dips in the old alignment which shall soon be replaced by the easier graded road on the right. |
 |
These hazard markers blocked a short obsolete section of the former alignment of the Bruthen - Nowa Nowa road. |
 |
And in the other direction, almost all traces of the old road had been obliterated and covered with logs. |
 |
Looking over the hazard marker
barriers, notice the old linemarking on the left of the bitumen road
surface. For some odd reason only one lane of the old road was
obliterated. The other lane was left intact, despite the fact no
vehicle can get to it now. |
 |
From the same location as above
looking toward the existing alignment. Much work had been done on
improving this intersection, despite the fact it is only a track to a
small fenced-off services building of some sort. |

Steep Decent. Trucks use Low Gear. |

Dead Horse Creek Road and a Roadworks
Ahead Next 2km sign (which was referring to a tractor mower working on
the side of the road). |
